Join us as Dr. Laurel Coleman, Geriatric Physician, shares about palliative care and dementia. She will discuss advance care planning; pain assessment and management strategies; common problems impacting those living with advanced dementia; the impact of hospitalization; and the consequences of caregiving.

Those attending the session will:

  1. Describe the difference between usual care and palliative care
  2. Explore the different trajectories of decline for persons with advancing dementia
  3. Review methods of pain assessment for persons with advanced dementia
