2/7/18 Early Detection of Dementia


Join us as Kamal Masaki, MD, Professor and Chair of the Department of Geriatric Medicine at JABSOM, gives us an overview of dementia, addressing common myths, symptoms, stages, and causes. Dr. Masaki will review risk factors, protective factors, neuropsychiatric and behavioral disturbances, as well as treatment options and strategies.

Those attending the session will:

  1. Describe the benefits and challenges of early detection of dementia
  2. Recognize the early symptoms of dementia
  3. Discuss possible causes and risk factors, and the diagnostic work up of dementia
  4. Explore currently available treatment options
