HAH provides education for members and to the public on topics related to healthcare, particularly those relevant to providers of care, including hospitals, home health and hospice organizations and long term care facilities.

Given the amount of new and changing information associated with the ACA, HAH offers periodic forums and educational materials to provide members with the education necessary to implement the Affordable Care Act in a manner which enhances the care they provide to their patients and the way they develop their organizations.
This two-day workshop will review the major quality and regulatory changes in long term care. Topics of discussion will include the skilled nursing facility (SNF) quality reporting program, value-based purchasing, payroll-based journal, nursing home compare and five star changes. In addition, AHCA staff will review the top citations across the nation as well as look at citations specific to Hawaii. Participants will also delve into the Phase 3 Requirements of Participation (ROP) including care planning, trauma-informed care, and infection prevention and control.
HAH works in partnership with HHERF to bring an annual three-day custom education session from Joint Commission Resources to Honolulu, pertaining to hospital accreditation. The next Joint Commission custom education session for 2019 will be in December.
