The West Kauai Medical Center was recognized with an award for Excellence in Patient Safety Across the Board from Premier Inc., which runs the Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN) in which most of Hawaii’s hospitals participate. In the photo above, the SAB Award was conferred on the medical center representatives attending the June 19 Premier HIIN National Meeting in Nashville, TN. To be eligible to receive the award, hospitals had to meet both a 90th percentile for performance across HIIN topics and six out of ten participation criteria.
This award acknowledges West Kauai Medical Center’s achievement of exceptional performance and participation in the Premier HIIN. To be eligible to receive the award, hospitals had to meet both a 90th percentile for performance across HIIN topics and six out of ten participation criteria.
Premier, Inc. has more than 470 hospitals participating in its HIIN, and only 27 other facilities will be receiving an award. West Kauai Medical Center is the only Hawaii hospital that achieved this award in 2018.
