The Patient Safety and Quality and Committee works to improve patient safety across all continuums of care. Members include representatives from acute, long-term care and home health throughout the state.
The committee’s goal is to ensure and advance the safety of Hawaii’s people by collaborative efforts with national and state agencies to provide care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and patient-centered. The group works together share best practices and learning experiences, with a goal to reduce patient harms, reduce preventable admissions, and to be transparent among facilities and with the public. This will shepherd our journey in meeting the Institute of Medicine’s triple aim of a healthier population, enhanced patient experience in our healthcare facilities and reduce the per capita cost. The Patient Safety and Quality and Committee meets quarterly.
