A Deeper Look at Healthcare Acquired Infections

Course Description

Join us as we take a deeper look at healthcare acquired infections (HAIs) in post-acute care. Initially used to denote those infections related with admission in an acute care hospital, the term now applies to infections acquired in the continuum of settings where individuals receive health care. These infections develop during the sequence of health care treatment and can result in substantial patient ailments and losses.

The good news: the acquisition of an HAI is preventable. During this 6-part webinar series, we’ll delve into strategies for prevention and surveillance. Participants in this series will be able to:

  1. Identify seven strategies to prevent HAIs

  2. Understand the ramifications of preventing HAIs

  3. Implement mechanisms to identify, monitor and prevent HAIs.

The sessions will be recorded and made available on the HAH website for on-demand viewing within one week of the live webinar date.
