COVID-19 Screening Sites
The Department of Health now has a website where people can find COVID-19 testing sites near you. Please carefully review the instructions for each site as some do not accept walk ins but a few sites will accept walk ins.
Patients need to bring insurance cards and a picture ID if you are referred to any of the screening sites.

Kūpuna Hotline
A new service has been launched to make it easier for kūpuna who are not comfortable with the online registration process to schedule their COVID-19 vaccinations.
The kūpuna call center, operated by 2-1-1, receives calls seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Trained specialists are providing personalized assistance to help those age 65 and above navigate the registration process, secure appointments, and help eligible individuals arrange for transportation to a vaccination provider. Translation services are also available.
Hawai`i Long-Term Care Vaccination Rates
Skilled nursing facilities and other long-term care facilities in Hawai`i are vaccinating an average 80.5% of their staff and 92.5% of their residents demonstrating rates far higher than the national averages.
Here are two video graphics on the long-term care vaccination rates among elderly residents and facility staff members.

Independent healthcare professionals will be vaccinated at hospitals or other sites on all islands and should complete this survey now (do not complete the survey again if you have already submitted it).
Hawai`i hospitals have an online registration and scheduling link for the COVID-19 vaccination. Currently, those receiving vaccinations are healthcare personnel, long-term care facility residents, first responders, frontline essential workers and adults 75 years of age and older. If you are in these categories, please visit the hospital links to register for the vaccine.

Department of Health Information Everyday Prevention
As healthcare provider offices reopen, many have put measures in place to protect patients and staff. Healthcare appointments, screenings, and immunizations serve as a first line of defense against serious illness and chronic diseases. Cancelling or delaying health services is especially dangerous for older adults and people with underlying health conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, or cancer. Here are a few tips to help navigate the new normal in healthcare visits:
Call, don’t cancel – if you have a scheduled appointment, call your healthcare provider to see if the appointment can be kept and what precautions are being taken.
Consider alternate healthcare delivery. Telehealth options may be available to you and vaccinations are provided at most pharmacies, saving you a trip to your healthcare provider’s office.
Be patient for routine care, but persistent for more urgent issues. Healthcare providers are facing a backlog of patients, but if you have a health concern, insist on being seen soon. For medical emergencies, seek immediate care and call 9-1-1.
For those without health insurance or who are unable to pay for healthcare services, call 2-1-1 or visit auw211.org for assistance. Free or low-cost services are available to those who qualify.
