5/21/19 Emergency Preparedness for Healthcare through Lessons Learned
Course Description
Hawaii’s hurricane season is just around the corner! In recent years, we have seen hurricanes hit the mainland as well as flash flooding and volcanic activity in our own state. As healthcare providers, it is imperative that we are prepared for disruptions in service. This webinar will review real-life scenarios and examine the impact of natural disasters on the healthcare system.
Having been deployed to disaster areas, Chris Crabtree, Executive Director of the Hawaii Healthcare Emergency Management Coalition, will share key considerations in planning for emergency situations. He will discuss preparatory measures including planning for continuity of operations, staffing considerations, and ensuring appropriate lines of communication are open between levels of healthcare, supply chains, and state/local authorities.
Target Audience
Professionals in the healthcare setting, including administrators, executive leadership, managers, nurses, social workers, environmental services, and designated emergency management personnel.
